Tyler Calhoun is a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University with degrees in Communications and Theatre Arts with a focus in Drama/Theatre for the Young. For the past three years he has worked with EMU Theatre as a social media and marketing assistant. Tyler is also a company member of Spinning Dot Theatre, an international TYA company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His work with Spinning Dot includes marketing and running their social media, acting in Only A Day, mentoring teen apprentices, leading camps/workshops, and directing. Tyler has performed in theatres all across Michigan including Pointless Brewery & Theatre’s first Theatre for the Very Young show. On Tuesdays Tyler co-teaches a theatre class to underprivileged high school students aimed at cultivating social and emotional learning. Last summer he attended the Movement Theatre Studio in Brooklyn, New York for a Lecoq movement workshop led by Richard Crawford. Tyler is dedicated to inspiring youth voice and fostering empathy through directing and performance.
