Biography

As a founding member and resident composer of The Catalysts, Mr. Gruber has written the scores for Fruit Fly, Shelly Bachberg presents: How Helen Keller and Anne Frank Freed the Slaves, Orange is the New POTUS, and Ball. Other musical works include: The Old Dead Five, Vegas Organic, and Hit it, Mike! as well as the following song cycles: The Not So Peaceable Kingdom, The Tennessee Cycle, Loved Returned and Songs for Two Women. For Stages Theater Company, Mr. Gruber was commission to do a musical adaptation of the children’s book, I Love You, Stinky Face as well as the folk tale, Stone Soup. Along with his writing partner, Max Wojtanowicz, he has been awarded a Minnesota State Arts board grant for the creation of a musical adaptation of the Chilean folk tale, Delgadina.
